The primary objectives of AFRICAT are to:
Contribute to bringing together and promoting mutual understanding between the people of Africa and Catalonia.
Contribute to the promotion of Catalan culture in Africa and African culture in Catalonia.
Develop and nurture social, cultural, economic and commercial relationships.
Promote improvements in the living conditions of African people by carrying out development projects.
These objectives will be achieved on the basis of the following:
Economic and commercial development: the delivery of projects in areas of health, agriculture, transport, industry and all other technical and dynamic related activities.
The promotion of education, scientific research, exchanges between schools and inter-university co-operation between Africa and Catalonia.
The promotion of human rights, the rights of women and children.
The reciprocal dissemination of African and Catalan literature and art among children and adults.
The organization of seminars and conferences about the history and cultures of Africa and Catalonia.
